Announcing the first South Central Fly-In of 2011

Climbing to Cruise
Guys,

I'd like to announce the tentative date of the first fly-in for the South Central as April 9 at KDRI which is Deridder LA. We will be having a mud bug boil along with other cuisine for those who don't want to partake in crawfish. I am currently also trying to coordinate with local EAA to bring in several warbirds and experimentals. Hoping for a big turn out and of course this invitation is open to any and all. Let me know if anybody needs help with arrangements. Looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible.

Need to add to the event. I have been asked if we would like to tie in a golf outing to the fly in. No cost to any participants, but I would need interest from members to reserve the course. Its right next to the airport so no transport necessary. I need to get this part organized fairly quickly, so if you are interested please let me know.

Need to update this fly-in for everyone. I changed the date on the calendar but wanted to post it on this forum topic as well. The new date is March 26, or the last Saturday in March. Our airport's EAA chapter has started a new monthly fly in for the fourth saturday of every month, and I thought it'd be a good event for others to fly in for. Also, we had a conflict with another close by airport for the original date. Hopefully I've gotten this out early enough so as not to conflict with others schedules. Along these lines, I'm looking for help in locations and volunteers to put together several fly-ins for Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Anyone interested in helping out shoot me a PM and we'll talk. Thanks, Larkin

Friendly bump to remind everbody that this is coming up at the end of the month. Guys let me know if you are coming so that I can get a guestimate head count. We are expecting thirty plus airplanes and striving to have beech aero club be a big part of that! Look forward to meeting you all!

Bumping back up to the top for a week of reminder. The fly-in is this Saturday 11-3 at KDRI Deridder, LA for those that would like to drop in. Don't think we'll be plagued with snow. We'll have the good times rolling down south for sure!

Here's the flyer to the local EAA guys for the upcoming fly-in.

Next Saturday, we’re looking forward to welcoming the folks from the Beech Aero Club, as well as aviators passing thru to Sun’n’Fun.
We’re offering a 10% fuel discount and serving up Pull Pork BBQ sandwiches with trimmings.

We’ve got some complimentary green fees from the adjacent Beauregard Country Club. If you’re interested give us a "heads up". We’ll arrange a T time.

Hope to see U

Just to give everyone my contact # in case you need help with anything in coming to the fly-in, I can be reached at 662-207-2088. Weather is looking good may have some low clouds in the early morning but they've been rising easily by noon so should not be a problem. Two more days! Looking forward to it!

Johnnie,

The local EAA chapter wanted to feed us so I couldn't turn that down. I also thought about it and considered that the normal beverage choice with mud bugs doesn't lend itself to flying home afterwards. I'll take anybody that wants to stay overnight to the house for mudbugs Saturday night and suds of the adult variety. If its just you and me, well, we'll have a good time with the neighbors I'm sure!

How we gonna get there tomorrow morning?
(From weather channel):
8 am 68°F Cloudy 68°F
9 am 69°F Cloudy 69°F
10 am 71°F Cloudy 71°F
11 am 73°F Cloudy 73°F
12 pm 75°F Mostly Cloudy 75°F

Other than that, looks great!
