Around The Moon
We will be piggy-backing on the American Flyers' monthly BBQ and seminar on Saturday, April 2nd.

American Flyers hosts a free BBQ from noon until 1PM, followed by a seminar and/or hangar flying from one until three o'clock. I have talked with the folks at American Flyers and they would be happy to have us come eat their food! They will arrange special parking for us if we have enough airplanes coming, so please reply to this thread or send me an email ([email protected]) and let me know if you are planning to attend and the number of souls on board (or in your car!).

April's seminar will be on the use of simulators in aviation.

This is on the BAC calendar, so it's eligible for PT points!

Hope to see you there!

Reminder!!!! Dupage (KDPA) fly-in at American Flyers is only a week away!! Sign up here or send me a message at [email protected] and give me a count of attendees!!!!

Times: BBQ at noon, seminar at 1:00

Good to see you again, John.

So far:

Mark Anderson - 2
Bob Schmidt - 1
Larry Last - 1
Joe Meno - 2
Sam Cryer - 1
John Redmon - 1

It looks like eight attendees so far with six airplanes.

Im planning 2 be there and start meeting some of you fine folks!!! Look for the FIGHTING ILLINI SUNDOWNER.

Success! The first East Central Fly-in of 2011 is history with five airplanes and 11 attendees! American Flyers hosted us as part of their monthly BBQ and seminar series. Lunch was the usual hot dogs, brats, burgers, BBQ chicken and all the fixin's.

We had four Baby Beeches from Wisconsin descend on our southern neighbors as a 'gaggle' of four. Sam Cryer and guest in Sam's Musketeer, Mark Anderson and his father in Marks' Sundowner, Cheryl Meloche and her husband in Cheryl's Musketeer, and Bob Schmidt (me) and member Larry Helmuth in my Sundowner. Joe Meno and guest arrived in Joe's Sierra from Clow airport, just south of Chicago. John Redmon drove in from near Indianapolis due to turbulence. That made a total of seven members and four guests.

We also started cooking up plans for more fly-ins in the East Central Region, so stay tuned!!!!

Turbulence, nasty winds, and a dead gps kept me away. I definitely need to make up for missing the event. Shucks!!!! Hope to make the next gathering.
