2015 in the Northeast Region

We are making fly-in plans in the 9 Northeast BAC states for the new year.
Dates are not solid because there are more items to work out.
One of them is waiting for water to freeze on Lake Winnepesauke.

Watch the calendar for specifics.

  • Land on the ice runway in New Hampshire.
Take off and land in 3 different states (CT RI NY) yet only fly 17nm.
See the War re-enactors in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Poke around the Pocono Mountains in New York.
BBQ in Plymouth, Massachusetts and depart for Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Islands.
Hot dogs and glider rides in Springfield, Vermont.
Berkshire Mountains foliage trip in Western Massachusetts.
Pancake breakfast in the Lakes Region at Laconia, New Hampshire.
Eat lunch in a Lockheed Constellation in Greenwood, New Jersey.
Tour the Air National Guard base in Quonset, Rhode Island.
Partner-up with the New England AOPA Fly-in... somewhere.
Open House Lobsterfest in Brunswick, Maine.

Join us for the fun. Use your plane to visit your BAC friends!

Add a fly-in at 7B2 also. That would have to be in the late Spring as we have to wait for the mud to solidify (in order to park the masses of Mice expected). I will get this firmed up ASAP.
For those who are ground-nav challenged, that's Northampton MA.

Steve Cote is the Airboss of Massachusetts and he's says he's planning a fly-in at Northampton. That should be fun. It's a very central location. Some good fuel prices are found in that area. Maybe we can do a fly-in/out to Westover Air Force Base with its 11,000' runway. It's a combination public/military base with dozens of huge C5's parked there. Also, it's the closest airport to Steve's.

Paul Werbin makes a good suggestion... a weekend on Martha's Vineyard Island. I had a house there for 20 years near the Katama Airpark. This is the place where you taxi your plane to the edge of South Beach and spend the day. The bus system stops at South Beach and is friendly and usable to take you all over.

If you'd like to fly into the Boston Class Bravo for a city tour, that could be arranged. They say, "OK" to me all the time.

The Northeast shall regain its activity prominence with the help of your suggestions and the great work of the Airboss in each of the 9 states.

Should be a great time .

Gas? We were the lowest price in the valley at $5.95 100LL. As of last week we are down to $5.25! We expect to hold this through the winter.

Currently paying $4.80 a gallon at Central Jersey (47N).
Anybody flying by,stop in and fill up....

Bob,
I like your idea better :)....will have to try it next time at the airport, but will have to wear my "stealth" outfit so I don't get caught....
