Zack, if I knew you were not going to fly I would have had you fly along with me. I was studying the weather pretty hard myself before making the decision to go. Great turn out! We had 5 planes with 11 members and guests attend today. I will post pictures and a complete write up later.

We had a line of severe T-storms last night down here in Texas. But .... rain is always good!

I debated for quite a while. Something told me it would be fine and any storms wouldn't show up until later, if at all; but I didn't want to get hung out either. I definitely would have come along. I was going to be solo, anyway.

Bummer. Glad it was a good turn out, though.

Weather was a factor for our fly-in. A Convective SIGMET Outlook was issued and a crosswind out of the south challenged our attendees. My windscreen got a little wet on the way over and back from a couple of brief light rain showers. Nevertheless 5 member aircraft and 11 attendees arrived on the ramp in two Sierras, two Musketeers, and one Sundowner. In attendance were Tim Vangundy and his guest Greg Runion, Curt Lindauer and his wife Jane Broeckling, Steve Powers and his guest Cathie McFarland, Mark Kendalland his wife Marilyn, his son Matt and daughter-in-law Megan, and host John Redmon. The food was great along with spending quality time socializing with the attendees. The Airport Steakhouse has won the 2016 Airport Restaurant of the Year. Worth the trip over if you get a chance. We will hold a fly-in at Mattoon again next year.
