Do I see that you have not landed in Maryland? Let me extend an invitation to KHGR Hagerstown, where they have a first class restaurant on field, KMTN where we have a good restaurant a few blocks away, or any other airport you wish.

6008D is finally wrapping up the autopilot install next week, but I’ve also got conflicts tomorrow. Really looking forward to getting back in the air and meeting for lunch! Chris

FWIW: for interesting BAC past experience; Jane and I got stuck at MTO with a flat tire on Sunday Sept 23, 2023 when returning from BACFest2023 in Oskosh! The restaurant was closing, but invited us in anyhow, and cooked us an "elephant ear" tenderloin which we shared and greatly enjoyed. We had to RON waiting for a very nice lady mechanic on Monday morning.
If that wasn't enough experience at MTO, my son was flying to OSH last year with me (so we could do the FISK approach one time together while I can still do it), weather was moving in so we stopped at MTO for fuel and decided to RON due to the very bad WX. It happened that the EPA had shut down the water system in Mattoon due to serious contamination! So we quickly got back airborne, and flew to Champaign IL to RON, paid to hangar the plane, and resumed out flight IFR the next day to Mason City Iowa to meet up with Trumpet for a Friday 2 ship "flight of two" into OSH on Friday morning. Quite an experience passing thru MTO a few times! Please tell the staff that my wife and I really appreciated their hospitality in 2023.

Yes, Maryland is one of nine states I have left to fill in. Once completed I will have landed and "with boots on the ground" at all of the lower 48 states in my Sierra. I will make a note of KHGR. Thank you.

We had a great turn out. Weather cooperated for our fly-in with partly cloudy skies. We had a Sundowner and Sierra on the field with seven attendees. I met Paul Zerkel and his wife Dawn for the first time. Dan and Nina who I haven't seen for a while made it in. Bob Trader brought his friend Linda. Discussions centered on Paul looking for a plane. He had owned a Sport. Paul is thinking of buying a Sport again. He has also been looking at anything between the Sport to a Sierra. Good luck in your search Paul. Dawn had one of their famous elephant ear tenderloins. See attached picture. Dan and Nina, it was great catching up with you both.

Let me be the first to invite you here when it's convenient for you. My treat. Options include KHGR, KOXB, KMTN and others. KHGR is, as described, a nice restaurant in the terminal building. KOXB is Ocean City, Maryland. It's an airport next to the ocean. There are no walking distance restaurants, but Don rents cars for very reasonable prices. (They are so nice, I bought one!) KMTN is Martin State Airport, a multi-use airport which until very recently held an A-10 squadron on the north side, and on the south side has the Maryland State Police, the Baltimore County Police and the Baltimore City Police helicopter units. There is a nice restaurant within walking distance, and numerous other restaurants which require a short uber ride.
