Flight Levels
Many many thanks to Tom and Margie Corcoran for keeping all of us entertained and well fed during our time in New Bedford. Although the weather didn't fully cooperate, everyone here made the very best of it and enjoyed being in the company of our fellow BACers. Sleep in all next week Tom and Margie.....you deserve it!

Final count was 55 people and 5 planes on the ground at KEWB.

Thanks for keeping everyone who could not attend up-to-date with our festivities Brad! Nice work!

One thing Brad forgot to mention in hs concluding post was where BACfest 2018 will be held....

Thanks Tom and Margie for a fun BACFest! We had somuch fun catching up with friends and meeting new members.

The Mascelli's are home. After a nap, we've settled in to watch some football and unpack.

Tom and Margie, Thanks for a great BACfest. The only complaint that Janet and I had was you putting Steve "Jose" in charge of the weather. Even with the rain and wind we had a great time and the food was delicious. Had a 9 hour drive home in sunshine.

JP are you teaching Bob how to fly upside down?

Tom and Margie you rolled out the red carpet for us and we had a great time! As much as I hated Jose the last 6 days for messing up the plans, he did me a big favor today. Jose blocked all the weather from coming east and let me go 1/2 way across the country in clear skies and a tail wind 2/3rds of the way. Probably averaged 140kts ground speed for the trip and made it in 8.42 hours tach time with two stops. Even then I am not going to forgive Jose for not letting me land a New Bedford. Hope everyone made it home safe.

Sounds like lots of fun. Maybe a whisky tour by air? Maybe a flyout to Bowling Green to visit the Corvette museum? Good 'ol southern cooking. Can't wait!

I've always wanted to spend time in that part of the country. Making plans now!

Margie and I are trying to rest. We are experiencing POST TRAMATIC BACFEST SYNDROME.

Rest up, Margie and Tom. You two did a great job and I had a great time in spite of Jose. Got my fill of lobstah and chowdah and drank at a bubblah! Wicked Pissah!

P.S. The hospitality room was a great idea!

Many thanks to Tom and Margie (or should it be Margie and Tom?) for their marvellous job organizing BACfest 2017. Leili and I had a great time, despite all the wind and wet thrown our way by Hurricane Jose.

We drove back to Toronto in some lovely ('though hot) weather, seeing a part of the USA that we really had not ever explored before.

Many thanks to the organizers and it was great seeing you all!

Well I am still here:? penn yan sent the wrong part. Found the correct one at j&j in Texas but then ups lost the part for awhile. Here's a warning for anyone using next day service from ups, once it is late they are delivering it for free. Now that it is free they don't care if it sits for days on the dock or it gets sent to the destination. My cylinder has been sitting in Kentucky for 24 hrs. They do not care anymore if I get it this week or next. The customer service guy could not tell me if someone would wander over and put it on the next plane to Boston or just let it sit all weekend. Never again will I use ups for something important. Maybe for case of oil or something if it's cheap and I can wait.

Steve,
It could be worse. Tom said they are pulling half a million pounds of scallops out every day (!), so maybe there is an upside to the delay?

Had scallops for dinner this evening. I am going home tomorrow one way or another. Either flying myself or commercial. What ups does this evening determines whether I actively give them negative feedback or just let things sit. I have not been this unsatisfied with a business ever. The cylinder is off about one third of the valve guide is missing lengthwise. About 200 hrs on a overhauled cylinder.

I share your frustration with UPS. We have a heck of a time with them at work. It doesn't make any difference what you do, you cannot collect an insurance claim from them, no matter how much they destroy the box. I have two gears behind my desk that are about 16" in diameter and 2-1/2" wide. We sent out a box of lock pins in a 12" X 12" box and the gears were delivered to our customer. The only thing that was left of the box we shipped was a the label and they slapped it on the box of gears and sent it on.
Good luck tomorrow on getting your cylinder delivered.
