Touring the Galaxy
Hello fellow BAC flyer's, let's start the new year right with a fly in.

Fellow BAC member and Sundowner CFI, Mariellen Couppee, will be our hostess for this event.

Mariellen is employed by Davis Flight Support/ Woodland Aviation located at the Yolo County Airport (KDWA) in Woodland, CA.

The Davis Flight Support building at KDWA will be our anchor. The building is a pristine example of what an FBO should provide.

Mariellen has worked with her Companies VP, Gary, and arraigned the following:

Maintenance and avionics demos

Techs will be available for questions and evaluations of aircraft issues

A Laminated sectional was prepared by Mariellen for an air tour of our area

Fuel and hotel discounts have been secured and we are asking for a head count for a catered dinner.

Please come and join us for this social gathering and informative Q&A. For those with questions on how to get the most performance from their Sundowner, ask Mariellen. She trains in hers and is very Sundowner savey.

WE NEED A HEAD COUNT !!!!!
Thanks Bob Lewis- assistenant to Mariellen

Mariellen & Bob,

You can add me to the list! I will be there, just have some good wine chilled!

All for one!

Wine Country fly-in Jan 16,2010

Bob,
It seems I cannot get the timing right. My plane will be in annual on 12-31-2009, If I can get it done by the 16th I will be there.

Rick Spann

Guys we all know Jan is unpredictable. If you can't fly but are willing to drive, I would love to see all of you-Bob

You guys might not believe this given my schedule, but I might actually be able to make the Wine Country Fly-in on the 16th. I might be getting there sometime in the afternoon unless I can trade the day before, but I am off that day and should be in California. I am looking forward to seeing some west coast friends who I have missed for awhile.

Dan Jonas

Candy and I are tenatively going to try to make it...timing, transportation mode and route TBD. We would be piggy backing with a general Bay Area visit.

Wine or whine?

Save the whales...

Don't cut the trees...

Ban guns...

The down side of California (that and the traffic, taxes, dysfunctional state government, ...).

Er, I'll stop now and enjoy my 70 degree day.

Mark,

I'm in New York....traffic sucks, taxes are actually higher than California and I'm pretty sure the government here is dsyfunctional too. But worse, it is currently 34 degrees headed for 18 over night. I shoveled 18 inches out of the driveway to get to work two days ago and that was at 5 am in the morning.

I'll take California any day. I like whales and trees (all the ones here have no leaves now) and who needs a gun when you can go to the beach on the first day of winter and enjoy the sunshine.

Dan Jonas

I'm with Dan, for all you California dis-likers , can you go snow boarding in the morning and play tennis in the afternoon in your tennis shorts, and then go to the beach for a swim, all in the dead of winter. I don't think so, HE HE HE. See you in wine country or maybe its "No Country For Old Men "

I plan on being there. Probably driving since I too am having my annual done. I live in Sacramento so its a short drive. Unless someone from the area is going and wants AvGas money.

Hi everyone, as we get closer to the event, I thought people might want to know it will start around noonish. This should give any area Fog a chance to burn off. So far, I have these folks attending:

Chris Linderman

Dan and Adriane

Aris Westbrook

Mark and Candy

Ron Beach

Jason Johnson

and of course Mariellen Couppee.

Last-me

That totals : 10 BAC'ers

Candy and I are planning on making it but we're definitely driving - the weather is a bit iffy and we couldn't line up a cheap return flight that let us watch the Vikings beat or be beaten by the Cowboys.

Timing is flexible - exact lodging is still TBD.

As a sidebar activity I will be bringing along a portable version of the new website (still a WIP in progress but a lot of W & P done) on the laptop so people can see.

I plan to arrive Friday afternoon late. I have a room at the Hampton Inn in Woodland for Friday evening. I will probably stay over Saturday evening and depart Sunday.

See everybody there!
