West Coast Fly-In. Watsonville, CA. Saturday, June 8.

Flight Levels
Saturday June 8 at Watsonville, CA KWVI. (www.cityofwatsonville.org/166/Airport).

Great airport, great restaurant. Ella's At The Airport (www.ellasinwatsonville.com).

Doing the second Saturday because the airport has discounted gas. This month 100LL was $4.15/gal on the 2nd Saturday. Should be about the same discount. There will also be a Historical Aircraft Display on the field.

There are three flying mouse’s on the field and one aerobatic mouse that is falling in disarray with flat tires. We can go gawk at it. A 4 mouse field, is that a record?

Watsonville is only a couple miles from the beach, but any fog is usually gone by noon. Normally landing 20 toward the water. If the fog is really close in, the cross-wind runway (09-27) seems to always be open. Good alternates are Hollister and Salinas. I will evaluate the weather at 9 AM on that Saturday and let everyone who would like a message how it looks to a human.

Some might want to consider spending the night. Santa Cruz is right up the road. Hope we have a good turnout. It will be fun.

I may be able to make it. My better half will most likely have to work, so I'd be solo and would have to head back home fairly early.

Woops, someone pointed out I got the date wrong. It is Saturday, June 9. How about a target time for lunch of 1 PM.

Well, it doesn't look like I can make it. Couple of issues...honeydo list and the bird needs an oil change.

Reminder the Watsonville BAC fly-in is this Saturday. Looks like the weather will be beautiful in the area.

Breaking News: 100LL will be $4.18/gal on Saturday.

Arrivals plan on noon-ish. Lunch at 1. Parking to the right of the terminal. My Sport will be sitting there to welcome all its siblings.

Chris I’ll be there but I can only stay about an hour due to another commitment. See you there !

Doesn't look like I will make this fly-in. Weather is not cooperating east of the Sierra Nevada Mountains (again.) Winds are forecast on Saturday to be up to 45mph. That's strong enough to produce a mountain wave condition. I think I'll stay put, thanks.

Chris I received a call that one of my guys can’t make it tomorrow which forces me to go in early. It looks like I’m a no go for tomorrow. I’ll try another time. Sorry to let you down, Bob

Three freshly painted Mice for three amigos: Loren, Chris and Mark Lunch, hanger flying, promises to do it again...A fourth aerobatic mouse observed sinking into the tarmac, photos to follow!

Could you give me a PT report for this Fly-In? I need names of BAC attendees, did they fly or drive, home airport identifier and what BAC member organized the fly-in?

Thanks,

Alan
