Climbing to Cruise
*Sunday, July 22nd 2007 (the day before Osh Kosh begins)
*10am-1pm
*Enjoy the award winning brunch at the Lake Elmo Inn, a five minute drive from 21D. Brunch is $17.95 (although I'm still working on a pilot discount). The Lake Elmo Inn has won the Twin Cities "Best Brunch" several years in a row (Mpls-St. Paul magazine).
*BAC member Todd Fisher and other Lake Elmo pilots will volunteer to shuttle our BAC friends back and forth.
*Alternate date: Sunday, July 29.

On your way to OSH, or just come in for brunch, you won't leave hungry after visiting The Inn. Lake Elmo is located on the eastern edge of the Twin Cities, near Stillwater and the beautiful St. Croix River. Valters Aviation is the FBO on the field and will be open for fuel and pilot support. If you are flying through from the west on your way to OSH, 21D would be an excellent overnight Sunday, then into OSH Monday morning. The Country Inn and Suites (10 minutes away) has offered standard rooms at $75 for pilots who want to stay over. The Country Inn and Suites/Stillwater number is 651-430-2699.

Reminder that this Sunday is the Meet and Greet at Lake Elmo, MN. We have quite a few members in the area and would love to see a great turnout.

Don't forget, the BAC Lake Elmo Meet 'N Eat is this Sunday!

On your way to OSH from the west or just feel like a trip to Lake Elmo, MN
(21D), on the eastern edge of the Twin Cities (close to the WI border).
From 10a-1p, we'll shuttle pilots and crew to the Lake Elmo in for brunch (about a mile away). Brunch is discounted to $10.95 for our group. Hang in the bar (the best place to eat in the restaurant) and eat a ton of great food (don't worry about dress). Also on Sunday: Lumberjack Days taking place just down the road in Stillwater, MN on the beautiful St. Croix river. The longrange weather forecast for Sunday is sunny, 89 degrees with light to moderate SW winds.

Valters Aviation is the FBO and meeting place. I'll have my handheld and will be monitoring 122.8. If you think you are coming, I always have access to my email at: [email protected]. Happy Flying! Todd Fisher

Lake Elmo Meet 'N Eat
Lake Elmo, MN
Sunday, July 22nd 10a-1p

We'll plan on being there, probably driving as our club's Sundowner will be in Wisconsin, possibly flying in our 182 from Anoka, arriving around noon. Sounds like a great time.

I'll be there, unclear if the wife will be tagging along. Planning to fly from Crystal but I can drive if the headcount indicates need for driving help.

Won't score me too many points on the PT race though - 21nm/25sm from MIC to 21D per the great circle mapper.

I'll be there solo in the 10-11 range and looking forward to meeting a few locals At this point it sounds like the wife will be sleeping in.

What's gas going for at 21D :?: Just got to check out the comparison to the 4.25 self serve at Crystal ;-).

Lake Elmo is still on for this morning from 10a-1p. If you are flying in we are parking you on the NE corner of the airport behind the large beige w/ green trim Valters hanger. I'll be monitoring 122.8.

If you are driving, use the north airport entrance and follow if past the main FBO (brown building) to where the road turns left. Our hangar is right there and N6562R will be pulled out in the grass.

Not to substitute for a real briefing, but it's looking OK through early afternoon. Maybe a pop up shower...a more organized line of stuff looks like it may come in after 5pm. Moderate SW flow. Winds around 10-13 knots through early afternoon.
