The $100.00 Hamburger is Back in NJ

Around The Moon
The Dinner that is on the edge of Sussex County Airport (KFWN) has or is about to reopen under new management. I was happy to see this happening.

Maybe we can get some planes together for lunch one day in the near future.

Bob

I will be there on Friday and will confirm that the dinner did in fact open (they were just waiting for the Board of Health Certificate) and check out a grouping of tables.

Anyone want to suggest some dates?

Bob

OK, Now we just need to pick some dates.

I was at Sussex yesterday and had lunch at the recently re-opened diner. The new owners did a great job. They also would be happy to provide a Special Menu and Special Prices for group fly ins and since that will typically be on days of good weather, we can have a grouping of their many picnic tables outside over looking the field.

Fuel is still $4.70 a gallon so maybe the hamburger will be a little less than $100.00.

Bob Kittine and Other Members,

You pick a date. Any member can post a fly-in anywhere. That includes outside his/her geographic area.

If you post the event on our calendar at least five days ahead it qualifies as an official BAC fly-in.

No further club permissions needed.

HOWEVER...

If you contact your regional director you may get THE BIG OK and funding for lunch and goodies and BAC swag may be granted.

Do you know who the regional director is for this nine state area?

I do!

Hey Tom,

I sent you a text this morning. You can E-mail me at      [email protected] (Your namesake e-mail) I did ask if you were related to Barbara (Barbara Corcoran that is) or Eddie Corcoran. I used to work for Barbara and recently sold a house to Eddie.

Let me know what to do regarding a sanctioned Beech Fly In.

That looks like an offer difficult to refuse.  I’m free every day except Christmas, and oh yeah, I’m free on Christmas too.

can I suggest that a date be CONFIRMED less than a week ahead?  The weather’s definitely the limiting factor on these, right?

I think that once the 4th of July comes, people tend to have lots of summer plans.

Net weekend is Memorial Day. which is a busy day out here on the East end of Long Island. The following weekend I am shooting in a three day competition so the following weekends including the 12th, 19th and 26th work for me. I will try to check weather as we get closer and set something up with Tom.

Bob

Bob Kittine,

I consider you a man of conviction. You are convinced that June 12th is OK. I think you are right.

I will authorize swag and food. Just ask.

Date/Time/Place/Events on calendar. That message is for all members. Let's get flying.

If you were at a BAC fly-in in Maine, what would you order for lunch?

Thanks Tom. I will reach out to Diane (Airport Manager) as well as the Diner and confirm this. (Just sent her an e-mail and I will call the diner latr this morning.)

Bob

Bob,

if it’s a go for June 12th, you should officially post it so people can plan. Otherwise, some people (wives) might make other plans for the pilots, like cutting the grass, cleaning the garage etc... :)

if the weather is bad you can always postpone.

I talked to the airport and the 12th is fine. So, yes, lets do this. Tom, lets chat about food etc. as I have to let the diner know what we are doing 631 is the first of my cell number, 374 the next and ends in 9652. Or r kittine at sign aol dot com.

For anyone planning on coming, there is a very active sky diving school there and the landing zone is on the South West side of the airport, so caution is necessary ad if the weather is good, then on a Saturday the Caravan will be going up to 14,000 feet and back down again as frequently as possible. Also, the airport owner does not allow Touch and Goes on the weekends.

Bob

My annual was planned for the 12th, but has been rescheduled to an earlier date.  Assuming that everything goes well, I am planning on attending.  I will need to convince Nahia to come with me.

Look forward to meeting you. I will probably be there in my 182 - But the Sierra should be there too, piloted by someone else.

Bob

I need to talk to Tom, but since we are talking about food, I think this means lunch, so maybe an 11:00 AM Start time?
