Flight Levels
Although BACFest 2020 has been cancelled, JP and I were talking and wondered if there would still be any interest in motorcycle riding the Tail of the Dragon and/or hiking in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The original dates were October 13-15 (Tuesday through Thursday). We would consider shifting it to the weekend (Friday through Sunday), October 16-18.

Please post here if you're interested and what set of dates best suit you. We'll get the conversation going.

We will likely be in the Knoxville area that week so may be interested. I'd suggest riding the Dragon during the week rather than the weekend. It's a lot less crowded with far fewer sport-biker-wannabes trying to prove something to someone.

Fred, as you can see, there hasn't been much response to the motorcycle ride. Unless several others chime in by the end of the month, I guess it will be a no-go. We'll see if we can attract any more.........

Ok
If no one/ not many want to ride
Maybe a get together in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge for a couple of days
Nice this time of year and almost everything is open ...
Just bring a mask !😷

Brad, Fred, and others, Kathryn and I like the idea of going on a hike in the smokies. It would be great if more could join in. Weather permitting we will fly in a Friday morning and leave Sunday afternoon. I am going to research motels this weekend and make a reservation. I will post what we come up with.

I spent a couple days looking and using October 16 - 18 and I found out that hotel prices go up when the leaves turn color. Prices are double in Gatlinburg compared to Pigeon Forge and since I am just looking for a clean place to sleep I am thinking the best deal is the Days Inn in Pigeon Forge at $129/ night. If someone else prefers another place please post.

Thanks for info
Going to try and come up or fly in
Steffi has hand surgery on 6th but should be good to travel by then

My secretary has a mother who is a travel agent. There are cabins within 5 miles of Pigeon Forge. I checked a web site out and found that a 2 bedroom cabin goes for $150-200/night. If that is split by a couple it becomes very reasonable. I checked on some of the cabins and the dates available. Not much available right now, but I would like to encourage those interested to plan further out and maybe we could make this a mountain cabin outing. Many of them are in a cluster east of Pigeon Forge. I am going to give you a link and she said to check out the Great Outdoors cabins. https://www.pigeonforge.com/stay-a-while/pigeon-forge-cabin-rentals/
