This airport is located at the extreme northeast corner of Oklahoma. Plan to attend! Here are the details:

Fly in for a late breakfast / early lunch. Your host (trumpet nelson) will drive the group to town, where we will pick up your choice of delicious to-go food and then .... we will enjoy our meal at the Grand Lake Sailing Club outdoor pavilion on the lake. Only a 10 minute drive from the airport.

Plan to arrive by 10:30. Later arrivals can grab one of the two crew cars and join in as well. Early arrivals can enjoy free coffee and (sometimes) donuts in the new beautiful airport lounge. Plenty of tie-downs right in front. Maybe they will move the private jets out of the way this time ... We'll plan to be done by 1:00 pm so you can head home and get those chores done! :grin:

And for the more adventurous - - stay for the day, bring your swimsuit, and get free windsurfing lessons! Sweet.

Nelson, Kathryn and I are going to join you. We have storms forecast to go through overnight Friday. Hopefully they will be gone for us to have an early AM departure. 2 hr :12 min flight time.

Early T-storms are here - lots of rain and lightening at the airport (KGMJ). At least my plane is getting a good wash.

It is supposed to clear .... but we'll see. Not looking too good, but coffee is free. I will be here for a few hours, regardless.

Nelson, great time to today, thanks for hosting. Great meeting Mike and seeing his Sundowner. We were home and had the Sierra put away at 4:07.

Nelson, Thanks for putting this fly-on together. It was great to meet Kathryn, Dennis and Nelson in person. Good BBQ for lunch. Made it home in about 35 minutes (due to headwind). Here is a photo of my arrival with Nelson on the ramp to greet me.

A success for the South Central region! Three of our intrepid members (plus your smiling host) made it a foursome for lunch in Oklahoma. More photos to follow (thanks to Michael), but for now here are the 3 arrivals this morning in front of Michael's 1978 Sundowner (he won it in that raffle last year). A fun get-together. We'll do it again sometime, and maybe throw in some sailing. Sweet.

Chris, yes, plenty of it to the west and south. The timing was perfect, clear skies from south of KC to touch down. ADSB radar showed a cell right over the airport, but it was at least 20 minutes behind. When we got there it was gone.
