Harvey Haag, Airboss of Pennsylvania announces a BAC fly-in on Aug 18 (Saturday) at KPSB, (originally listed wrong by me again prompting the corrections from Gary and Harvey - TC) Philipsburg PA.
This is an Armed Services Awareness Day at the Mid-State Airport just west of State College (Penn State).

This is NOT Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as originally posted. Stupid Regional Director (TC) regrets the error.
Thank you Tom Terrific for making this embarassment public.

These were his kind words of admonition: Tom: the philipsburg fly-in at mid state airport is in Philipsburg PLB not Pittsburgh. They are half a state away from each other.

BAC members meet at show center at 11:15am. Make a little sign like the limo drivers. Wait until 11:29am.

Mid State is KPHB. Events include: EAA Young Eagle Fights, STAT MedEvac helicopter, C123 Viet Nam transport plane, two WWII trainers, flag ceremony honoring Veterans at 11 am, antique & Classic car cruise in, military displays and speakers. This almost forgotten airport played a vital role in central-PA air history until Penn State built its own airport in nearby State College.

You pilots in Pennsylvania are having more fun than should be legal.

Gary M. asks if the fly-in on Saturday the 18th is at KPSB.
Harvey H. says it is at KPHB
Tom R. says it is at KPLB

If you voted for Gary's answer you would be correct.
Even though he's in Delaware he is Pennsylvania aware.

I'm old and easily fooled and I live near Boston and not "considered an official source of information" for FAA purposes or apparently Pennsylvania purposes.

For now, you are being invited to Philipsburg, Pennsylvania on the 18th and we're pretty sure the identifier is KPSB.

Stay tuned for more corrections or dial 1-800-SCREW-UP for additional misinformation.

LOL.....well, my family is from Wilkes-Barre area (KAVP) and I traveled back and forth to Pittsburgh for my show Rotti's breeder. A bit of insider knowledge that's all.

I'd love to make this one but I commited to a fly in at KWWD in Cape may NJ.

Open mouth insert foot. PHB is the local abbrev used for postal, KPSB is the airport. Anyway, its almost forgotten.

I still have a few things in the air but - I might be able to swing out... Are they going to have food/drink available on the field ?

Regards,
Scott

Sorry wasnt able to make it lost a ton of time on my firet stop and probably wouldnt have gotten there until 2-3 hopefully ill be able to make the next one.

Morn'n Folks,

We made it but really late... I didn't launch until about 1100 and decided to stop in Clearfield for fuel before arriving so I didn't have to worry about it on the way home... Met Larry and Mary from Detroit at Clearfield while they were fueling up for their ride home... Harvey was the only one left at Mid State when we arrived... Buzzed by a North American SNJ while we were turning base to final - we were in communication so his buzz was intentional to give us a show... The SNJ pilot wasnt the safest pilot I've come across - but - the sight picture of him coming at me from the side was right out of a World War II movie... Still had time to grab a few dogs and hang out with Harvey and the airport staff for a bit... We got to watch a C123 depart with two huge radials spinning... We closed the place and left about 1730... Much smoother ride home - I love flying in the late afternoon - early evening...

I have some pictures but the ride out wasn't as smooth as Jackie prefers - so she wasn't feeling the best... We don't have the normal quantity we take on a flight... I'll try to post a few here for those interested...

I think the final BAC count for the day was three Sierras - Harvey's Musketeer - and - my Sundowner...

Regards,
Scott
