Santa Claus is coming to KPMH

FLY-IN--It is that time of year again, first Saturday after Thanksgiving means Santa is flying into Greater Portsmouth Airport (KPHM). His sleigh is to arrive at 11:00. Santa will be there for photos until 2:00. Also, great diner at the Airport.

Lunch at Skyline Restaurant - Portsmouth, OH (KPMH) - Saturday November 24, 2018

Fly or drive to the Greater Portsmouth Regional Airport (KPMH) and join us at the Skyline Restaurant located on the field for lunch at 11:00am EST. Joe Kirby will host the event. Don't miss this one. This has been a fun event for many years now. That jolly old elf St. Nick arrives at 11:00am. Bring your kids, grandkids, nieces or nephews and have them get their picture with Santa.

Its bad enough that I have to dodge deer in my car on the way to the airport and around and on the runway at takeoff and landing, but now we have to watch for them in the pattern.

PS: be extra careful as I understand Santa is not yet ADS-b out compliant

Not only that, but he files special VFR a lot! You could find him already in the pattern when you are at the outer marker on approach. Don't forget to check the NOTAMS around the 24th.
 
If it was just rain I’d file and go. With LLWS in the forecast along the entire route and low ceilings I’m not going to fly. I would drive but my sister just got back from Australia with her family late Thursday. They will be having Thanksgiving today at 2:00pm. I would not get back in time if I did.
 
Sorry to have missed out this year. It's always a fun event and PMH Santa is great with kids of all ages! Rain and 800' ceiling kept this sled in the hangar!
