Possible Oceano, CA FLY-IN (L52)?

Would there be any interest in putting together a FLY-IN to L52 in Oceano, CA? If so I could get my kids to drag my BBQ Trailer over to the airport for some Clam Chowder for lunch on a Saturday. Afterward possibly could hit the wine trail some or just wander around Pismo Beach.

We can overnight at one of the many Motels in the Pismo area, several have (winter rates before Easter). The following morning I could do a Santa Maria Style Tri-Tip Lunch and fly out early Sunday after lunch.

Between now and May 21 I only have 2 weekends blocked out a Daddy/Daughter Goose Hunting Trip she has sometime in Febuary (Daddy doesn't dance) and we put on an annual dinner for the JROTC Cadets, on Armed Forces Day (May 21st) this year.

We are based in Bakersfield at (KBFL) and go over there quite a bit usually just to have the $100 Burger or Seafood in our case then fly home that evening to get away from the heat in the Valley for a while.

Hope to hear from some of the Southwest members, I think it could be an enjoyable and in-expensive weekend.

Another couple of places to think about kernville, Harris Ranch Chirroco summit (Patton Museum), Ok 3!

Kernville the lake is almost completely empty it's pretty sad to see right now. We love Harris Ranch and hit it about twice a month for lunch or dinner. the Patton Museum sounds neet too.

Late Season Goose Shoot FLY-IN now that would be unique!
 
We would be interested but attendance depends on two things.....weather and dates! As a former Southwest RD, I suggest you go ahead and put the fly-in together with dates and locations and let the chips fall where they may. Waiting to get consensus for a location and dates doesn't work. Just pick the place, the date, the time, post it on the BAC calendar and call it good. If it doesn't work that time, then just do it all over again. Sooner or later it will work out. I really like to see your energy and effort! Way to go!
 
I can't make next weekend as family is visiting. Also, we have weather this week. It's raining right now in Phoenix. The winter coastal weather is an issue for VFR me. If my wife wants to visit her sister, we'd make it if the weather outlook was good. Another place would be Death Valley. I've never been there, but it could be warm there this winter. At least in the day. Overnight wouldn't be cheap as it's high season.
