Pop Up Northeast Fly-In Sanford, ME KSFM Saturday 10/11/2014

Climbing to Cruise
Any Nor'Easters (or anyone else) interested in meeting at Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport (KSFM) for breakfast this Saturday morning? Have not eaten there yet, but the Cockpit Cafe in the terminal gets good reviews and features a famous lobster omlet.

Weather looks good and the Fall leaves should be spectacular. I think the restaurant closes now on Sat and Sun at 12 noon, so I'm thinking we need to be there by 10 or 10:30-ish.

Here's a chance to get a Maine destination in your logbook, sample some DownEast cuisine, and enjoy the Fall scenery and the usual BAC comradery.

Who's in?

Glenn

I'll try to be there IF the plane is fixed (not holding my breath). My back up (LSA) is booked for the day.
That restaurant is good.

Afraid not, the plane is still INOP and that pounding at the door behind me are personal demands. Can't seem to get away from them.

Hi Glenn,

I had te tentatively planned on trying for it as I've done so little flying this year... LOL - great weather - hah - woke up to clouds - low ceilings - and rain all day... Sorry...

Regards,
Scott

Weather up here turned out to be not as good as forecast either. When I left Pittsfield at 9:00 Bangor was reporting 8000 overcast. Down in Sanford it was 4000 overcast and a light rain developed right after I landed about 10:10. Rain had stopped by the time I left at 11:30 and visibility was good under the overcast for the return trip.

Breakfast was good. Quite a local crowd there. Had to wait a few minutes for a table.

We'll try it again some other time.

Glenn
