Hi Folks,

Rotary Club - Wheels and Wings

Just a heads up on a great little fly-in that I can personally vouch for... I've been to the last two - and - the food was too notch (pulled pork sandwiches and coleslaw for me) good band and more than a hundred cars to look at - if that's your thing (I'm a plane guy)... They had an excellent band and it's located in the picturesque rolling hills of apple orchard country in upstate NY...

In the past planes were free - they might be asking for a voluntary donation this year - but - hey - it's for a good cause...

I'm not affiliated with the event but here is a flyer...

Hi all,
Just a reminder that this Saturday at Kobelt, NY, there' s a car show and fly- in. Good food and lots of "old" cars.
Who plans on going?
Rgds,
Dave

Hi Folks,

Dave - Weather looks good...

Will do Fred - Mike sold his Sierra - he's working on getting a Cirrus at the moment...

Steve - be great to see you - I know you haven't been flying much lately...

Ed - like to see that Sierra I've been hearing so much about...

Regards,
Scott

Hi Folks,

Yeah - I should be there early - sans Jackie (family commitment)... Now if we could only drag some of those New England boys down this way - Ken - Carlos - and - our oh so Grand Poohbah - Tom ??? Been ages - fellas... Tom - if you come we'll send up smoke signals so you can see the field... Glenn - we'll give you a pass being a TRUE Downeaster... Fly safe and do watch out for the drop zone just north of the field...

Regards,
Scott

I loved Kobelt the last time I was there, two years ago, I think. Restaurant was great. Foreflight says it's 2:47 no wind for me from 2B7. Just not practical for a down and back on Saturday. Hope you guys enjoy it.

I'm thinking of putting up something short notice for Sanford (KSFM) in southern Maine either Sat. 10/11 or 10/18. Good restaurant on the field that offers a lobster omlet (what else) and the leaves should be about peak down there then. Will watch the weather. Nor'easters (or others) let me know if you're interested.

The curse is still on. We fixed the brakes, fixed the strobes. Now today, a partner had a full electrical failure. He got down fine but I can't trust her until she's checked out.
Why do these things only happen on Friday???

random electrical failure. remove the front seats, lay on your back, turn the master on, see if you can wiggle either of the nice sized electrical posts that are coming out of the ammeter (you know, between the oil temp and fuel gauge).

There is about 3 cents of effort that went into that gauge back in the 60's - 70's its a wonder that any of them are still good... I'm sure it's only 4 or 5 hundred bucks if you need a new one.

It really could be that simple, I'd rule it out before looking at other places.

Murphy was a bloody optimist, anything that can go wrong will at the worst possible time. Beautiful weather finished airplane and my bride wakes up with a migraine this morning, I am not leaving her home so I can go have fun. Sorry guys will not make it today to Kobelt

Hey Guys,

No worries - understand - been on my feet all day in the sun - I'm beat - not too bad of a BAC turnout - we had 5 or 6 planes show up - some members who rarely visit the forums received the email I sent - so that works... Jose from Long Island just showed up as the cars are leaving... Overall - good turnout...

I'll probably be leaving shortly - thanks to all those that came !!!
:)

Regards,
Scott
