Impromptu UK Fly-In 23 Jun 18 - Seething Norfolk

Climbing to Cruise
A fine English summer's afternoon saw the entire UK Sierra contingent drop in to Seething airfield. Many thanks to Peter and Simon for making the trip in G-BZGP to join up with N-39TA. Hopefully the first of many fly-ins for the 2 Beech 'Babies' this year.

Glad to hear that you are motivating mice to be active in Great Brittain. Wish we could have joined you. Keep 'em flyin'.

Jerry, please forgive my ignorance, but how did your planes make it there? Were they fitted with ferry tanks, or were they shipped disassembled? It would be interesting to hear about the first few entries in the logs.

Les,

I am not sure. There was a flightaware track for N39TA that showed it coming in to Wick, Scotland from Iceland but that was not the N39TA of today; it was a C24R that was subsequently written off after a dog argued with the main gear on landing.

When I get a moment, I'll take a look at the old logs and see if there's anything there of interest. You ask a good question.

Jerry of the UK,

I was entertained by your flight from Lakenhieth to Honington on Mat 12 as seen on flightaware.com.

I kept trying to decipher what you were spelling with that convoluted track over the ground. Was it some kind of RAF code?

Next time, a BAC entry is required. I know you have experience as you were in my right seat when I did my BAC skywriting.

Well Done Jerry and (Ruth)....LOL....Jerry's gonna hear about that one I'm sure. Great to see our UK ships getting together, impromptu or not. Sounds like you had a great time and planning more in the future. BZ to you.
