How To Post A Fly-in Event

I think this was a thread before the website migration, but I can't find anything on it so I'm putting this out there, especially for all the new'er members that have joined the BAC family in recent years.

Any member can call/post a fly-in, no approval needed from your Regional Director or the Air Boss (if you have those).  BAC has a budget to cover the attending members lunch (or something similar).  So make that decision and hold a fly-in.  I've done it where I'm the only one there, but heck, you're always alone unless you tell others.  Going to an event? Share it with us.

Yes we want pictures of the attending group, we even have a BAC banner in each region that can be sent out for the event (if your RD isn't attending) for the picture.

So try calling a fly-in and we can start meeting up again!

Mike Dunlevie offers a valuable reminder about posting a fly-in...Anywhere, Anyplace, Anybody!

1-855-WE FLY BEECH.

That number directs you to all the club officers and regional directors.

For a qualifying official BAC fly-in just post a notice on the website under EVENTS/FLY-INS at least 5 days prior. Then contact the area regional director for a blessing.

That official sponsorship can get you subsidized lunch or BAC swag.

A Massachusetts member posted a BAC fly-in in Arizona. A Tennessee BAC member posted a fly-in in Nantucket. Just be sure to show up at your own fly-in safety permitting.

Thanks for the reminder Mike. Let's go out and have some fun.

Thanks Mike and Tom for posting these reminders to get out there and fly and "Host an Event"  We've been cooped up for a long time now, so take advantage of the great weather this summer to go out there and meet other Beech Aero Club members.

While digging around in the "Document Library" today, I came across this document that may help some of you in your hosting duties.  It was a little out of date, so I cleared away some of the dust, deleted obsolete links and gave it a read for content.  It gives a lot of tips and tricks for ensuring a successful event. Not everything in the document may be applicable to your specific event, so don't think that you need to do everything in there.  If you are hosting a more complex or overnight event, feel free to use those things that are discussed in detail. One of the big things to remember is to keep an account of who attends (real names are best) and their airport of departure so that they will qualify for President Trophy points.  Give it a read and go host a BAC event!
