I don't usually do breakfast unless it's served around noon! A couple of places I could recommend are:

Rick's Runway Cafe at Orange County - KMGJ - my home field, has become very popular since opening last year.

Runway Cafe at Blairstown - 1N7 - has excellent pancakes. It's a small place and you may have to wait for a table. You can watch the gliders soaring while you wait though.

Blues Skies at Greenwood Lake - 4N1 - (used to be Crosswinds Cafe). Haven't been there since the name change. Your little guy might like seeing the Lockheed Constellation that's now part of the terminal building.

If you're concerned about the strong Northwesterlies Hannah will be leaving behind KSWF and KMSV can land you into the wind  .

Pacific Aviation has Le Bistro cafe at Stewart -KSWF - nice folks and reasonable price for full serve 100LL. Watch for C5As doing T&Gs  .

Forgot the restaurant name at Sullivan - KMSV - but the homestyle food is memorable. Bethal Woods (formerly Yasgur's Farm) is just down the road for a nice side trip. There's a Woodstock museum there and I believe they have taxi service available.

Have fun :)

I agree with John and here are a few others:

BAF (my home drome) has a new eatery, The Runway (No, we're not very original with airport restaurant names, are we?) They do all three meals although weekday breakfast starts at 0800.

AFN, Jaffrey NH for lunch and dinner at Kimballs Family Restaurant. Literally at the foot of the hill under the runway.

3B0, Southbridge, MA Jim's Fly-In Diner, for breakfast or lunch. But, as the season wanes, hours get a little squirrely. Call ahead.

BID, Block Island, RI, Bethany's Diner on the field. Great little place for breakfast/lunch. Worth the $5 RI landing fee.

SFM, Sanford, ME, The Cockpit Cafe. Really good breakfast, closes at 2.

FIT, Fitchburg, MA, pretty good diner.

LWM, Lawrence, MA, Really good diner.

I will confirm Steve Cote's recommendation of the food in the terminal on the airport at Lawrence, Mass. (LWM).

There are others too such as Plymouth (PLM) and Martha's Vineyard (MVY). How about Nashua (forgot ID) New Hampshire.

If short narrow runways are not an issue try Minuteman Airport at Stow, Massachusetts (forgot ID). Homemade soup etc.

One of my favorite 50 miles flights for lunch is to Lawrence (LWM). Walk outside the airport and cross the road to the China Blossom Buffet. Well priced, filling, tasty-tasty-tasty.

I will defer to Steve, of course, as last time I saw him he had 50lbs. on me. (All in his gut).
