The seminar will cover the essentials of flight planning, changing mountain weather, and tips and tricks to help you traverse some challenging, yet rewarding, terrain.

Free Brunch for attendees, no service fees for aircraft flying in for this event. Register at https://lp.signatureflight.com/colorado-mountain-flying-2023.

Topics will include Weather resources and handling ridge and upslope lift, roll cloud, and turbulence associated with mountain wave phenomenon; Minimizing risk from mountain winds during landing; Review of ForeFlight planning and enroute tools for VFR and IFR flights; High altitude performance for single-engine and multi-engine aircraft; Route planning to and from special Colorado airports.

Yes this is a Second Saturday (of the month) and will be our 23rd monthly event, just this month with brunch.

And you can see our group build of a Hatz biplane.

Just to put an end point on this event, 78 people came in for the mountain flying seminar, 16 were Eagle based pilots.  Attendees arrived in some interesting aircraft.  Vail Valley Jet Center, now owned by Signature Flight Support provided the customary coffee and doughnuts to start us off, then they had a local BBQ place put out a tasty lunch.  They also waived fees for all attending pilots/aircraft.  Say what you will, but with over a year of our FBO being owned by Signature we have yet to see anything adverse here, in fact landing fees went down for our type of small aircraft.

We had a good speaker who put on a good program for mountain flying.
