Clarification

Orbiting Earth
Not that I am planning anything that might make the PT race a little more interesting, however, I have a few questions.

The rules say that points are awarded for the nm flown between the point of departure and the fly-in. Side trips are allowed within reason. My question is, what if one flies to more than one BAC fly-in after leaving the original departure point (home base)? Obviously the first destination is easy and covered within the rules. However, is the second fly-in, third, fourth, etc. from home base including all side trips? Or, is it from the last fly-in to the next fly-in including any side trips?

It would be helpful to know the answer to this in the next week or so. Thanks guys.

Another clarification request.

What, if any, is the policy regarding sponsoring a fly-in outside the sponsors region? Not that I would be planning anything, either.

Cases in point. The Baja whale watching trip and the Bahamas fly-in.

BTW a great website for calculating non-US mileage is:

What constitutes double dipping? From the original departure, or from subsequent departures points?

I would assume double dipping would really only apply to counting the same leg twice. I can't see any issue with visiting 2-3 fly-ins and adding up the legs as long as it's a reasonably continuous trip.

Dan, anything that takes your total over Cloyd's total is considered double dipping. :)

Actually I think Mark has it right.

No double dipping means you can't count the same miles flown twice.

If you want to sponsor a fly-in in another geographical region OK just coordinate with that RD.

Cloyd's Totals

I'm already over Cloyd's totals, so I should watch for a sudden adjustment.

I figured that continuous mileage as the trip proceeds would be appropriate. Right now only one side trip is planned and it is nominal.

The airplane is in for annual in July and I figured a bunch of you wold be adding summer PT points. Besides, there are some interesting places to visit in this month.

Sponsored Fly-ins

Cloyd,

I'm not planning on sponsoring anything except the upcoming Napa event sometime in September. If I go, I will be flying to already posted events.
