Join us for a tour of the Chanute Air Museum in Rantoul, Illinois. Museum doors open at 12:00 noon. Arrive by 11:45am so we can go in as a group. Admission is $9.00 including a group discount. The museum has an area set aside with tables and chairs. We plan on ordering pizza for an afternoon lunch. I will be bringing refreshments. The museum web site is http://www.aeromuseum.org

Note: Runways 09 and 36 are right traffic. To get the museum use the taxiway off of the approach end of runway 09. Taxi back towards the outside static display. General aviation parking is between the museum and the FBO.

Weather permitting, I'll make it. Just canceled my third flight in a row due to weather. Gotta get lucky sooner or later.

Don't know about the museum - but I was in Tech School and did my first solo there in 1973...worked lots of hours in the Chanute Aero Club sweeping floors, changing hangar lights, washing planes, etc to pay for hours - that was an expensive rating, my total PPL costs were around $750.

The fly-in is this Sunday. I will be there rain or shine, fly or drive. Looks like Bob and Joe are the only two planning on attending. Anyone else?

Looks like I can't make it. Combination of weather and unplanned family activities. Some day I'll make one!!!

Arrived about a half hour ago. The gentlemen to give us a tour of the Connie is here. He said that he was told there would be 15 to 20 people for the tour. I am afraid he is going to be disappointed. He lives here locally and came into today just for us. I waiting to see who else shows up. So, far just me.
