At our recent Annual General Meeting, it was announced that BACFest 2022 would be in Palm Springs, California. The host airport will be the Palm Springs airport KPSP. Michael Dunlevie will be the organizer. The dates are Thursday September 29 to Sunday October 2, 2022.

I had a great time at BACFEST 2021 and Beech Party 2021! I'm really looking forward to Palm Springs! As long as I don't have to share a room with Michael Dunlevie.

You cast aspersions at me?!?!  Sir, perhaps look in the mirror (or run a recording of your snoring) and I will be vindicated!  https://www.beechaeroclub.org/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/sf-laugh.gif[/img]

For clarity (and to protect reputations), when 3Z was brought to Tullahoma the first time a number of us attended and the accommodations, arranged by JP, required a few members to bunk in a "bunk room" and learn who snores and who doesn't.  A fact that the "doesn't" set in that equation was zero, yet one curiously (and with great enjoyment I must add) is blaming all others, particularly one other, is what you see in this thread.  https://www.beechaeroclub.org/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/sf-wink.gif[/img]

I'll leave the explanation there, as this is a story best told in full with beverages and in person.  It is a story of JP as a travel agent, 3Z, Tullahoma, and BAC friendship.

There are at least two versions told, both are best heard together and at the bar.  https://www.beechaeroclub.org/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/sf-cool.gif[/img]

Great spot for a September BACFest.  I will plan on attending.  For those interested in a landing below sea level, KTRM, just a few miles south east of KUDD, is -114 feet.  The route across the southwest is also easily doable without going above 10,000 for those easties who might be concerned about the mountains.  Palm Springs airport is nearby for commercial travel.

Redcoats eagerly looking forward (as in 2020 and 2021!) to attending BACFEST next at PSP.  When the dates are known, our flight booking will be made (again!) and perhaps we will be allowed to travel this time. MD thank you for your endeavours - we’ve previously flown into KPSP in an Arrow 2 decades and a half ago and found it a splendid location to visit and spend time in.  Can’t Wait. Will there be ear plugs in the welcome pack in case sound insulation is lacking?

Ok. Ok. There’s a very slight possibility that I maybe might have occasionally snored a tiny bit on that one occasion of complete exhaustion after a long day. But I absolutely wasn’t the individual responsible for blowing that huge tree down in the back yard that night! Gene Nora slept in that house with us, on that trip. She said, “I never heard a thing!”

Hi all,

Maybe I have missed the obvious, but just when is BACfest 2022 ?  I have not been able to find it on this thread. If we don't have a firm date yet, then what is the approximate date ?

I need to know ASAP as we already have potential conflicts and need to clear our calendar now so we can get there.

Thanks,

Peter

Mid September would be great if possible. That will leave space to make the trip to Beech Party 2022 Oct. 13-15!

Hope to see you all in Palm Springs!

I may be missing something here, but your comments look contradictory! Palm Springs is in California!

I suspect Frederic was kidding, but maybe he will be in Florida while the rest of us are in CALIFORNIA!!

I could jog to BACFest next year (only 382 miles), if I was in a little better shape.  I'd like to confirm that I'll be there, but I don't want to impact attendance this early.

Marty,

I sure hope you/we can all make it to BACFest 22.  I haven't seen you in way too long.  You've been missed by all.

Hot friggin dog i am so excited to hear this! I will for sure be there with N8887M!! I may bring the amazing SAR dog Axel with me or the Drug dog Ender....so be warned if you plan on bringing back some contraband LOL! Looking forward to finally putting real faces to all these names that have helped 87M along the way.

Some of you, due to their long range planning needs (from the UK, etc.!), have asked about confirming the BAC Fest 2022 dates, so here's the update: Thursday September 29 to Sunday October 2, 2022 are our dates.  You are of course welcome to come in early and stay late.

I should have our hotel information soon, I have to go and personally meet with the finalists in early March.

In a return to the format of BAC Fest(ivities) of years past, we will be having a speaker at our Friday evening event.  We will be joined by Mark Baker, head of AOPA.  If you have ever seen Mark Baker speak at any AOPA event, or OSH, etc., you know we will have a great evening.

As other details firm up I'll be happy to share, look forward to seeing you in Palm Springs, California for BAC Fest 2022!

To all members attending BAC Fest 2022 in California:

Sheila and I will open up our vacation home in Colorado (Garfield, CO) to those traveling to BAC Fest this year.  Will include a few days before the Sept 29th start, and a few days after the event as well.  The airport is in Salida, CO with designator KANK.  Our home is in the mountains at a 10,000 ft elevation, and is about 15 miles from the airport, just right for an overnight (or two, or three) if needed as you travel west or east.  No problem with picking you up at the airport.

Here is a description:

Amen River House (coloradocabinrentals.com)

And attached are suggestions for your flight.  It is a good first attempt into the mountains for a flat-lander.

Just send me an email and let me know.
