Hey Eric, how in the world do you know that the. Phone rang? Sharmalie was doing the filming (ya, using the iPhone ), and it rang just at touch down and stopped the video there. I am shocked at the quality on the upload to u tube, on the phone they look great even in the clouds, online they look very choppy and even goes black at some times? Can that be corrected?

Steve

I could hear it on the video it actually sounded so clear I thought maybe you had the phone jacked into the intercom. I dont remember which video had it in it but was pretty funny hearing the automated voice asking if you wanted to take the survey.

The NFlight filter lens helps with the prop distortion and provides a wider angle lens. I have the Contour+ (Which I wouldn't recommend, either get a GoPro(and add prop filter lens) or use the NFlight filter for your iPhone for the higher quality). YouTube does some compressions when you upload you cant do much about that. I think if you take the video without the filter lens there isnt much you can do to take it out later but maybe someone else knows how to do that.

Thanks for posting the videos they were great!

Steve, cool video going into Elizabeth City. I'll probably watch the rest later on today. One question; no video of the hearding of cats into FFA?

Jay , I would like a tape of the radio work from Elizabeth City to FFA . In my opinion, Charlie wins hands down for smoothest radio voice coming into the fray from the 45 downwind. Calm, Smooth, Proper modulation and oblivious ( nonchalant) to the busy environment. How would one get a recording of that ? "If you are out there please advise" . :)

I don't know, perhaps a call up the Norfolk controllers might answer the question of if it was available somewhere? Since it was Unicom, probably not. But maybe next year, we should make our own recording of THAT instead of pictures and video? But if we had some evidence, that might be really bad for all the players out there, right?

Hey, didn't I hear you were oblivious to the ground?

What do you figure our collision avoidance expert from Wednesday would have been doing if he was there? Someone should have said 'there will be a test - Friday'

Hey maybe the "SKY SLICER" aka "SKY CIRCLER" is still holding around the Norfolk tunnel .

I bet he wishes the grand prize would have been a vacuum pump. Even his transponder code kind of circles, doesn't it? 1221 1221 1221

I'm getting dizzy just thinking about it.

He's in Woodbine NJ for lunch and fuel. All fixed...or he balked at the price and us using the Mk-1 Eyeball.

Hey Jay, I didn't record FFA we didn't continue on to there, after listening to comms during the approaches for you guys, I didn't want to put the little lady into that situation, she was concerned at hearing you guys call I"M GOING ROUND, more than once, we just went back to Norfolk.

Scott, on the landing at Elizabeth city video that's you following us and can be heard on my comms from the overhead speaker, I leave that on when filming so I can hear some comms when flying on the video's, actually surprised nobodys mention the call out by the traffic system for "traffic" or "traffic unavailable".

Steve

Hi Steve,

Yep - nice job on the video - yeah - noted that 503 guy following you in - LOL... I've never tried to use my speaker - but - nice idea - I'll have to try it... I haven't even looked at all the pix Jackie took yet - I'll try and play with them tonight to see if we have some keepers...

Regards,
Scott

Nothing is secret as Cote knew I was in Woodbine NJ for lunch, fuel and a good leak. (No lunch).
Had to refile from scratch to continue flight.
Got through the NYC TFR via IFR on Monday. Landed Mansfield, Massachusetts at 5pm.
Vacuum pump was a quick deal thanks to Paul Werbin's advice.
Got one installed at a reasonable price at Hampton Roads Airport (and a Lexus crew car).
A+P place there is Aerodyne and they are very accomodating. They do overhauls and cylinders too.
Sharmalie Koski will be forever remembered as the "Original Beech Babe".
John Persinger: Thanks for highlighting my photo flight circles over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.
ATC commended me on perfect 2 minute turns. They called traffic so other planes would not mess up my pictures.
Too bad approach made me land. I was getting good photos.

Tom Corcoran

Ya I agree with the beech babe comment for Sharmalie, she got frustrated that the club wasn't going to support all of our babes that accompany our members to BACfest so she just made her own, thanks to john Persinger for trying.

Steve

H Steve,

I only caught a partial on that issue - what happened - someone proposed pink "Beech Babe" shirts for our significant others or female members - but - it was rejected because it wasn't politically correct ?

I guess I'm old fashioned - personally - I like the idea...

Regards,
Scott
