50th Anniversary Musketeer - Oshkosh Fly-In?

I mentioned at the 2011 Annual Meeting that 2013 was the 50th Anniversary of the Musketeer and suggested a possible fly-in to Oshkosh Air-Venture. I saw today in the EAA email that Piper Cherokee registration opens January 1st and they want at least 50 planes. Is there any interest in BAC in having a mass fly-in of our planes?

You mentioned Cherokee registration, are they hitting a special number this year? Or do they just want to help celebrate the Musketeer?

Will that be during the Alaska trip? Perhaps we should all take a month off and fly to Alaska, then go to Arlington and afterwards fly to Oshkosh. I have the time, but I'm not sure about the money.

I just checked. Oshkosh is 29 Jul - 4 Aug. Arlington is July 11 - 13. The Alaska trip has no date I know of, but was to be after Arlington. I doubt I'd be able to make all three, I'd be pressed to make two.

I am in, plane should be done by then. And this was a dream of mine for me and my father to fly to Oshkosh. Being killed in an automobile crash oct 2nd, this is the best way I can carry on his legacy. RIP Dad

Erick,

My condolences, it is tragic to loose a loved one. I hope you have a great time flying to Oshkosh. I'm sure your Dad will be with you.

OK - if the interest is there, I'll do the coordination (along with Larry Last, I hope). We tried to get BAC Fest in OSH this year, but couldn't get hotel accommodations. Of course, the first Musketeers were built in 1962 - Onsie, Twosie and Threesie.

What are we looking for? Parking together, pretty much requires a mass arrival from what I understand. A mass arrival requires prior approval and I think some training. If we want to try for a mass arrival, we need to have a staging airport - Waukesha, Wisconsin (KUES) would work and it's my home airport.

So let me know what you want to do....
