European BAC Fly-In #4 in Germany

Dear fellow BEECH pilots,

we will hold our fourth BAC Fly-In on European ground.
Although we had perfect weather last yeat at the end of September, we will organize our event in mid-summer this year!
We will meet again with a planned overnight to give us enough time to chat about aviation in general and our airplanes specifically with the "after landing beer" in our hands, if wanted.
We will meet at a very welcoming place in the heart of Europe / Germany...

A bit far for my Sierra .... but that looks like a great grass strip.

We hope to make it from the UK, not quite as far - but still involves transit over another country. We’re looking to arrive on the 14th to give us some wx flex.

Our BAC Fly-In #4 took place successfully last weekend in Guestrow (EDCU), Germany, close to the holiday region at the German coast of the Baltic Sea! Beautiful weather invited those who planned to attend. Again, we met some old friends known from last years Fly-In as well as new to us Beech drivers and even a friend flying in his Mooney. As a special guest, we had the honour to welcome our BAC International Director Jerry in his Sierra together with his copilot. They both arrived already on Thursday to participate in planning and organising. Thanks for your help!
Klaus and his wife flew in on Friday already but decided to land on the larger instrument approach equipped airport Rostock-Laage (ETNL), home of the Tactical Air Force Wing 73 "Steinhoff". Its role includes general air defence as well as training for the Eurofighter Typhoon.
The rest of the planes flew in on Saturday between 11:15 and 4:15.
We got to know each other during the day with some refreshing drinks before Rickmer fired up the BBQ, the grill was provided by the Aero Club Guestrow. Steaks and Bratwurst were prepared quickly and nobody was left hungry. Finally, Elke served vanilla ice cream AYCE!
After dark, one member of the Aero Club showed us some pictures from the past with a projector on a white wall, documents about the long lasting history of this airfield. (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flugplatz_Güstrow)
The evening concluded at the fireplace with good conversations before everybody was shuttled to the hotel.
Next morning we all met again for breakfast and the conversations continued before the shuttle service (me) brought all crews back to the airfield. After clearing up the remains from last night, we started hugging each other to say goodbye not without promising we will see each other again latest next year for our Fly-In #5.
After that, all planes left and arrived safely at their homebases.

Congratulations to all for another amazing International Beech Aero Club event! Year after year this one just keeps getting better and better. It looks like everyone had a great time, and knowing Peter and Elke, the hospitality and comradery would be second to none. Great job!

Thank you Jeff, I forgot to mention that again this time Sierra owners were convinced to join this fantastic club immediately after returning home.
Please welcome Katja and André and their beautifully maintained A24R DEMLW!

Peter,
It was a super event that was made ever more special by your organisation and the flexibility you displayed. It was a privilege to be able to attend and spend some quality time with fellow BAC members present and future. The choice of location was inspired and the hospitality of the resident Gliding Club was second to none. It was also notable that we had a full range of Sierras from A to C as well as Rickmer’s CS 3-bladed Sundowner. Not to say that Han’s’ Sundowner and Claus’ Mooney weren’t also worthy of mention.

It was brilliant and a sterling endorsement in support of a repeat event next year. It was also telling that all those present were eager, willing and able to lend a hand, a real validation of the Club motto.

Sorry we had to be early leavers but the weather window was not wide open to get home.

See you and Elke, Rickmer and Kathryn at BACFEST.

Katja and Andre, welcome to the Club; it was lovely to meet you - do get in touch if you need help or pointing in the right direction sometime.
