22# ABW (2 pieces)
22# ABW based on a mold of an original Beech 10# ABW P/N: 169-440005-207. If this part number fits your aircraft this OPP part will fit too. This part will provide a similar change in your EWCG compared to the 22# P/N 169-440005-119 which is not readily available anywhere.
I believe that installation of P/N 169-440005-119 would require a one-time removal of the stab to install the part, removal of the stab is not required to install the 10# ABW or to add the supplemental weight to the installed 10# ABW.
I am not an A&P and this is not a certified part, but it is my understanding that these components can be an owner prepared part. The actual weight of each unit may vary a little; the actual weight of ABW plus hardware installed at station 288, should be used to calculate the new EWCG.
This is a 2 part ABW, the 10# portion should fit into the aircraft without removal of the stab. After that 10# unit is installed a 12# supplemental weight is bolted on to the 10# ABW with (2) AN4-50A bolts and additional AN washers and lock nuts.
The modified 10# ABW included in this package has two additional holes which will match up with the 12# supplemental weight that has been fitted to match up with the 10# ABW.
I can make a custom 6 lb supplemental weight if you need some additional ballast weight but do not need a full supplemental weight. PM to discuss further,
The supplemental weight was made by taking multiple castings of the raised portion of the 10# ABW stacking them 3” thick and removing some material so the stab counterbalance arm does not contact the ABW. If there is any issues with fitting the ABW you can send it back and any modification that is needed will be made for free and sent back to you for no charge.
